Everything is Atomic
Welcome to Elementary Productions, the new home of my experiments in programming for both the desktop and web. If you are arriving here by way of my previous site, tvtagger.wordpress.com, you will be pleased to know that my Java library for MPEG-4 metadata parsing is nearing beta release. I will be updating the blog rather often, so keep checking back for new developments. In the meantime, feel free to poke around the site.

Andrew, I’m finding Tagger V3.2b (Java6) very useful. The one thing I can’t figure out is how to use is the “Extract Info from Filename” feature. I have it checked and then open/drag a file like “The Smiths S01E01-Eggs.mp4″ and the only field populated is “Name” with the full filename? Can you confirm the file name format it required to enable automatic population of series and episode fields etc?
Thanks in advance
Hey Jeff, I’m glad you’re finding Tagger useful. The format for extracting the file name is as follows:
Name.ext –> fills in Name field
## Name.ext –> fills in Name and Track Number fields
S##E## Name.ext –> fills in Name, Season Number, and Episode Number fields and sets the Kind field to “TV Show”
Hi Andrew,
Thanks for the wonderful TV tagger program. I was wondering whether there’s a link where you can download the older versions of TV Tagger Long Description? Thanks.
good question Danny, thats what im looking for! i need long description too. cant find anywhere, these are by far the best taggers ive used for windows, great work.
ctrl+click is not working for the life of me. all I want to do is convert the video kind for ~1000 movies to music videos. doesn’t anyone have the older versions of tagger where batch editing worked for sure or they had the lock fields option.
I don’t know what happened but I was trying to tag a movie that I have, but now it won’t work in iTunes, its weird because all the other ones I did work. I click on it/drag to iTunes, but it won’t appear, I’ve tried clearing the data but it won’t save on the tagger program. Any suggestions?
I have the same problem as gbd.
I would be happy if anyone could offer a solution. Ctrl isnt working
But anyway, your programm rocks! Keep up the good work! Thanks!
HELP! I want to use something to edit h.264 MP4 tag names or convert from file name — this seemed the most promising but is it an end user app? I want the TVTagger one but can’t find where to download the one that is an end user app and not an API..
Thanks – Linda
Brilliant app! Thank you so much for your much valued time involved in creating it! I have some m4v”s on an external Firewire 400 drive and it seems as though Tagger takes twice as long to save the info. Is this a known issue?
PLEASE HELP ME!!!
i am so confused! i am really frustrated with all these programs…Atomic Parsley, Tagger, Elementary? aghgh! i just want to know how to change the release date on some tv episodes i downloaded. i have downloaded tagger and get a javasoft archive. i extract this and it gives me two files- [AtomicParsley-utf8(application)], and [lib]. lib has four other javasoft archives that turn into links and jpeg images! what the heck? there is no exe! i do not know how to open this program. elementary does the EXACT SAME THING! i have the Java(TM) 6 Update 5 listed under my programs. am i missing any programs or what? i have tried using atomic parsley but do not know how to use the codes? i have dragged the application onto the cmd.exe. then i have dragged the file that i plan to edit the release date. but i have tried typing the commands (or codes) and hit enter but it does not change the release date on the original file… it does not display anything on the file on itunes (after adding the file in again)… PLEASE HELP ME. i thought i was a pretty good computer user until i ran into this stuff. man, this stuff is wierd and confusing… just please someone help me out!!!!! if there are any other programs that run on a windows xp that can help me out PLEASE TELL ME! thanks….
PLEASE HELP ME
Isn’t there a single person here that can literally describe how to run these applications? Jeez i see here that people can get it running but no explanation what so ever how to get it running at all? The link to get the longdescription b1.0.2 is dead broken, no more. And there is no telling here on how to get elementary running at all!!?? Please a little assistence here! I don’t want to be a pain in the ass or ungrateful at all but please a little help would be really appreciatable! I’m begging you!
You are my hero! I have a huge library that I had to transfer 4 times already and everytime I have had to edit the tags one by one. Now at least I will only have to do this one more time. Great App, I can’t believe how well it works. Thanks so much for writing it!
Just noticed above posts. I am no expert so please keep that in mind. All I did was unzip to a folder I created on my desktop. Initially I clicked the AtomicParsley-utf8.exe, and then the Tagger.jar . But I ended up with like 50 atomic parsleys running under task manager so I rebooted and only clicked the Tagger.jar file and it opens the Atomic Parsley on it’s own. Now as far as the release date mine did not show that option as editable but it could be the files or something I was doing wrong. I don’t want it for that so it is no biggy with me. It does everything I need it to including allowing me to add a description like the itunes purchases have. Plus I can batch a whole bunch of files and I tested it in iTunes they came up as TV shows. That’s all I wanted. I am loading 4 hard drives for others and I have to set up all the libraries so this is going to save me days of work. As for anyone who is having that much trouble I would wait until a more user friendly release comes out. I did not find it hard to use but I have not tried all the features. Maybe the release date feature is not enabled yet.
Here is a post about downloading, setting up, and how to edit your release dates
add the www to the begining it wont allow me to post otherwise
